Professional Profile

  • From 1982 - 1990 - Senior Legal Executive and Chief Co-ordinator, Manager International Relations, Air Lanka
    As Chief Co-ordinator, I was responsible for management projects of the airline and official communication between the Chairman's Secretariat and government ministries.

    Concurrently, as Manager, International Relations, I was in overall charge of bilateral air services agreements of the airline and matters relating to air traffic rights of the Government of Sri Lanka. All movements of foreign carriers into Colombo, Sri Lanka and commercial and  legal implications thereof came under my purview, together with contract administration with regard to commercial aviation in Sri Lanka.  As Manager, International Relations, I advised the airline on matters relating to aviation in Sri Lanka and led delegations of Air Lanka on bilateral air services negotiations between Air Lanka and other carriers and participated on behalf of Airlanka in bilateral air services negotiations between Sri Lanka and other countries.
     

  • From 2003 - present date - Coordinator, Air Transport Programmes
  • From 1 September 1994 to 1 April 2003 - Air Transport Officer, International Civil Aviation Organization
    I Co-ordinate the various programmes of the Air Transport Bureau of ICAO and assist in the administration of the Bureau's work as well as with relations with other Bureaux, regional offices, regional civil aviation bodies, the United Nations specialized agencies and other international organizations, on air transport matters.   I am also the Secretary of the Advisory Joint Appeals Board of the Organization.
